A student visa allows you to study at an eligible education provider in Australia. You are also allowed to travel in and out of Australia and work up to 40 hours per fortnight after you start your studies.
Student visas are granted for the duration of your chosen course of study, usually up to 5 years. Students can apply for multiple student visas to pursue further education. The grant duration tends to be lower for a maximum period of 3 years for primary school children.
Family members of student visa applicants can be included in their application. This includes the applicant, their partner and any dependent children who are not married and are under 18 years of age.
